FCm Travel Solutions has announced a partnership with Times Square Travel Agency, a long-established Costa Rican travel-management company headquartered in San José. The arrangement will extend FCm’s corporate travel network in Central America through an agency already serving business, leisure and group-travel customers in the local market.
The announcement identifies Times Square as an established provider of air reservations, accommodation coordination, ground transportation and meetings-related services. Its offices in the Paseo Colón district give the partnership a physical base in the Costa Rican capital.
A local partner for an international network
Corporate travel differs from a standard holiday booking. Companies moving employees between countries often require centralized policies, trip reporting, support when an itinerary changes and local knowledge of transport or accommodation. International travel-management networks typically use regional partners to combine those functions with on-the-ground assistance.
For FCm, the Costa Rica arrangement adds a locally established agency to a Latin American operation that the contemporaneous announcement said covered nine countries. For Times Square, affiliation with a broader network creates a route to serve multinational clients whose travel needs cross several markets.
The partnership also covers what the travel industry calls the MICE sector: meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. These trips can involve group air travel, conference schedules, airport transfers and venue coordination that are difficult to manage through a single conventional reservation.
The Costa Rica travel market includes an important business segment alongside its leisure reputation. San José acts as a hub for corporate and diplomatic visitors, while international airports and road connections provide access to business centers and tourist destinations elsewhere in the country.
Planned market launch
The original announcement anticipated a formal market launch in June 2011. That is a forward-looking date from the announcement, not proof that every planned activity occurred on schedule. The material available does not establish whether the partnership led to a merger, changed ownership, or produced a particular number of corporate clients.
The commercial logic was nevertheless clear: a global travel-management brand sought an established Costa Rican partner rather than building an entirely new local service operation from the ground up.
What happened next
FCM Travel’s Costa Rica office information subsequently identified Times Square as part of its global corporate travel network and listed an address on Paseo Colón in San José. This independently supports the existence of an FCM and Times Square relationship, although it does not independently establish the exact launch day or the outcome of the 2011 commercial rollout.
The 2011 announcement should be read as a snapshot of an industry partnership, not as a current list of services or a statement about which brands operate today.
