Costa Rica Journeys has published independent guides to Costa Rica since 2011. This page explains how our guides are written, kept up to date and corrected.
What we cover
Our guides cover Costa Rica’s regions and towns, beaches, outdoor activities, national parks and wildlife, and places to stay. Each place is described by its setting, style and what travelers can do there, so you can judge whether it suits your trip.
Prices
We do not publish prices or rates. They change often and quickly become wrong, so we link to each business’s own website, where current prices can be found.
Keeping guides current
- When a hotel, tour or other business closes, its page is removed and readers are sent to the most relevant guide for that area.
- When a business changes its name, the article title shows the new name with the former name in brackets.
- Links are checked regularly. Dead links are replaced with a working, relevant source or removed.
- Articles that have been fully reviewed show a “Fact-checked” date under the title.
Advertising and sponsored content
Any sponsored content will be clearly labelled as such.
Photos
Many photos on this site were taken by our editor, Geoff McCabe. Others were supplied by the places featured. If you believe a photo has been used without permission, email us and we will remove it promptly.
