Shawandha Lodge has 14 tranquil jungle bungalows which are set in a wonderful setting in a green tropical rainforest. Every bungalow has its own individual character and style with handcrafted furniture, a private bathroom and a fan. While staying at the Shawandha Lodge, you will enjoy incredible surrounding nature that will help you to forget the modern stressful life. This lodge prefers to avoid using T.V. and air conditioning but the bungalows are nestled in a splendid tropical park. There is also a swimming pool with waterfalls that is set in a green tropical garden. In each room there are a terrace with sofa and hammock where you can take rest and enjoy the incredible variety of trees, plants and flowers with so many vibrant colors and aromas as well as listen to the unique sounds from toucans or sudden howlers from the little “Congo” monkeys. 

Restaurant:

Shawandha Lodge restaurant offers breakfast from 7:30 am to 10:00 am. Breakfast offered by the restaurant is prepared with fresh local food products including eggs and fruits. You will also enjoy home made bread and fresh juice or coffee. If you want to have a take away breakfast box, you will have to inform the restaurant the night before so that you can collect it before leaving for your day activities. Under the palmed roof of the Rancho, you can spend a relaxed time and sip you favorite cocktail. At the dinner time, the restaurant serves delicious dishes which are prepared with a fusion of French recipes and tropical flavors and the dinner is available from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This restaurant offers some of the most refined cuisine in the Puerto Viejo area.

Activities:

While staying at Shawandha Lodge, you can enjoy closer look at the array of underwater species on a scuba diving excursion or snorkeling adventure. You can also go to the Cahuita National Park and enjoy exploring its unique biodiversity. If you go for a canopy tour it will allow you to experience the richness and diversity of the jungle close-up from this adventure. This canopy adventure has 9 aerial platforms and 14 on land with a total of 2560 meters of cable.
