La Oveja Negra Surf Camp and Hostel organizes surf sessions for novices in Playa Tamarindo. The beach is perfect for newbies because the waves are smooth, safe and fun to ride. The surf instructors start the lesson by giving a theory class on the basics of surfing such as ocean safety protocols, surf etiquette, equipment, wave forecast and so on. This is followed by demonstration and practicing on the beach. Once students have mastered the basics on the beach, they can enter the ocean to practice.
