Star Mountain Jungle Lodge

Situated in Mal Pais within the Nicoya Peninsula region of Costa Rica, Star Mountain Jungle Lodge is tucked away in the hillside, yet only 2km to the nearest beach. While staying at this lodge you will get opportunity to experience the power of the pacific waves and beauty of the jungle and will be amazed to see the monkeys curiously peering from tree tops throughout the peninsula. Accommodation Facilities:

Hotel Rooms:

The lodge provides simple but comfortable guest rooms and arrayed hillside and are fronted by a sitting porch where you can sit and get relaxed as well as enjoy the views into the green hills of the Cabo Blanco valley. These rooms are featured with private bathroom including hot water shower facility, room safe, a mini fridge, ceiling fans and all are spacious and decorated beautifully. You will find a queen size bed in two bedrooms and in other two you will get a single bed and a queen size bed.

House with two Bedrooms:

There is Casita-a detached small house, nestled just within a few steps from the swimming pool, is ideal for families or groups of friends. In this Casita you will find one bedroom with a queen size bed and another room with beds for two – four people. Both rooms include a bathroom with hot water shower. Casita is featured with a ceiling fan, a room safe and desk.

Star Mountain Lodge can also be rented whole by a group or a family on an exclusive basis. In this lodge accommodation facilities include 2 double rooms, 2 triple rooms, and the house is featured with one queen size bed and three or four single beds and this can accommodate up to 16 adults. Facilities also include maid service and chef service can also be arranged. There is a shared outdoor salon that is plushly furnished with sofas, chairs and tables is perfect for reading and writing. In your breakfast the lodge offers a healthy breakfast with bread, jams, fresh fruit, juices, cereals, yogurt and eggs but they don’t serve lunch or dinner.

Activities:

Cabo Blanco Absolute Wildlife Reserve

Only 4 miles away you will find the entrance to Cabo Blanco National Park, will allow you to explore the wildlife that resides in its 3,000 acres of untouched area. With the main trail of this park you can also reach the white sandy beach that is nestled in front of the island.

Horseback Riding:

Star Mountain offers different tours depending on the rider’s level. You can go for a horseback riding tour during early morning at the time of sunset. You can take the lodge horse as your gentle guides through jungle, mountains, jungle and beaches.

Birding, Hiking:

As this lodge property is set next to the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, you can get best birding opportunities with the help of the guides. This jungle lodge can arrange semi-private or private bird watching tours on an hourly basis. Through the property’s private 225 acre reserve, you can enjoy hiking and spot many kind of wild animals.

Canopy del Pacifico in Mal Pais:

You can make reservation and can go for tours that starts at two different times. You can go for the tour that starts at 9 am or can choose the tour begins at 2 pm. During this tour you can enjoy hiking and also get the opportunity to spot different species of birds and wild animals and also learn about medicinal plants. It will be a great experience to go for a Canopy ride that includes 9 platforms and more than 1 kilometer cables.

Surfing, Fishing or Boat Tours:

Star Mountain Lodge is set about 4 miles from the famous Carmen surfing beaches of Santa Teresa and Mal Pais. If you want to enjoy playing with the waves with your paddle board you can rent surf boards from the lodge and also get some information about surfing. If you like to enjoy fishing then you can take help of one of the local fishermen and can catch tuna, snapper and many other types of fish close to the Cabo Blanco island. But if you don’t like fishing, just can go for a boat tour or can scout for turtles, manta rays, dolphins, sea birds and even whales.

Yoga

Star Mountain Lodge has a palm thatched and 700 square foot (64 square meter) teak hardwood platform yoga studio is surrounded by jungle where you practice your poses and hear nothing else than the relaxing sounds of nature, sounds of birds and monkeys as a symphonic backdrop.
