Montezuma Waterfall<\/h3>\n

Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve<\/h4>\n

Situated 9 km south of Montezuma, Cabo Blanco<\/a> is the oldest nature reserve of Costa Rica. Established in 1963 even before the park\u2019s inception in 1970, this park\u00a0a popular tourist destination for tourists who visit Montezuma and Santa Teresa.<\/p>\n

Romelia Wildlife Refuge<\/h4>\n

Also known as Playa Grande<\/a> of Montezuma, Romelia Wildlife Refuge is known\u00a0in spanish as \u201cRefugio Mixto de Vida Silvestre Romelia\u201d (RMVSR). The\u00a0size of this refuge is 156.3 Hectares, or 386.4 acres, and includes the land from 50 meters behind the high tide line. This is a gorgeous beach with no development, a 30 minute walk to the north of town.<\/p>\n

Surfing<\/h3>\n

Anamaya Surf Camp & Yoga<\/h4>\n

This exotic retreat center offers yoga and surfing packages. These packages also include accommodations, gourmet organic food, and trips to the best surf spots.<\/p>\n

Playa Grande<\/h4>\n

It takes 30 to 40 minute walk north of Montezuma to reach this mid\/high tide spot. This surf spot is ideal for beginners as it has a very consistent, but small wave. A great company to hire for surf lessons and board rentals is Young Vision<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cabuya<\/h4>\n

Cabuya is just to the south of Montezuma along the beach, and by car is 10 minutes or so. It has the only entrance to Cabo Blanco national park, as well as a few small hotels and restaurants.<\/p>\n

Santa Teresa \/ Malpais<\/h4>\n

Santa Teresa, a beach town directly west of Montezuma, is about three times larger. This town is one of Costa Rica’s top surf destinations, and is loved by sunset watchers. It has many high end beachfront villa rentals, over 100 small hotels, and the best array of restaurants of any beach town in the country.<\/p>\n
