Angostura Lagoon is nestled near in the beautiful town of Turrialba.\u00a0Turrialba\u00a0is a small city in\u00a0Cartago Province\u00a0of\u00a0Costa Rica\u00a0with an estimated population of 35,618.\u00a0Angostura Lagoon has the largest hydroelectric plant in the Costa Rica.\u00a0Hydroelectricity\u00a0is the term referring to\u00a0electricity\u00a0generated by\u00a0hydropower; the production of electrical power through the use of the gravitational force of falling or flowing water. As the Costa Rican government is developing plans to begin offsetting all of the country\u2019s carbon dioxide emissions and become the first\u00a0Carbon Neutral Nation, this\u00a0hydroelectric plant is very important from the eco-sustainability perspective.<\/p>\n

\"Guayabo<\/a>Angostura Lagoon is not only an environmentally important place, but also\u00a0a center for exciting water sports including water skiing, tubing,\u00a0canoeing, white water rafting and kayaking<\/a>. But this place is one of the best places for white water rafting<\/a>,\u00a0challenging recreational water sport\u00a0where people use an inflatable\u00a0raft\u00a0to navigate a\u00a0river\u00a0or other bodies of water. To make the event even more exciting, rafting often done on\u00a0white water\u00a0or different degrees of rough water. This makes the raft passengers even more excited and thrilled.<\/p>\n

\"Reventazon<\/a>There are several paths leading down the Pacuare, Pejibaye and Reventazon Rivers that raft passengers love.\u00a0Pacuare is one of the best choices for adventure treks in Costa Rica. Its surrounding beauty including hiking trails, wonderful waterfalls and rich bio-diversity make this place one of the best whitewater rafting destination. On the other hand,\u00a0Pejibaye River\u00a0is one of the safest and less technical rivers to practice white water rafting in Costa Rica.\u00a0If you’re a beginner or expert paddler and seeking for a place to enjoy huge waves, hydraulics, as well as amazing natural surrounding, then you can try water rafting in\u00a0Reventazon river.\u00a0Pejibaye River flows into the Angostura Lake that is ideal for drifting and floating and for exploring the natural beauty of the surroundings.<\/p>\n

\"Pejibaye<\/a>Angostura Lagoon is set a few minutes distance from Guayabo National Park and Monument.\u00a0Guayabo National Monument\u00a0is Costa Rica’s archeological site.\u00a0Still partly unexplored the area contains ancient bridges and dwellings, and\u00a0petroglyphs\u00a0have been found that are estimated at about 3,000 years old.\u00a0Guayabo is a part of the cultural region known as Central Intermontane and Atlantic basin, which is located in the Premontane rain forest life zone, an as such has mild temperatures and abundant rain fall.<\/p>\n
