It\u00a0protects forest habitats in the Talamanca Mountains south and west of the city of San Jose. Located in a very important area for hydrographic basins (rivers Naranjo and Savegre), this reserve mainly\u00a0covered by very humid tropical forests, pre-montane pluvial forests, low montane pluvial forests and montane pluvial forests. <!--more-->Main importance of this reserve is that it\u00a0lies on the conservation of watersheds of Naranjo and Savegre River and it is also a\u00a0key link between the national parks <a href=\"https:\/\/costaricajourneys.com\/manuel-antonio-national-park\/\">Manuel Antonio<\/a>, Chirripo and Tapanti.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Climate:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">Los Santos Forest Reserve\u00a0is covered by tropical forests and its climate remains dry from December to April and the rest of the year this zone has a very rainy weather and the temperatures varies from 12\u00b0 to 28\u00b0 C.\u00a0The average annual rainfall is of 1.800 mm.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Activities:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/costaricajourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/coffee-tasting.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4132\" src=\"https:\/\/costaricajourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/coffee-tasting.jpg\" alt=\"coffee tasting\" width=\"300\" height=\"119\" srcset=\"https:\/\/costaricajourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/coffee-tasting.jpg 500w, https:\/\/costaricajourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/coffee-tasting-300x119.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>You can enjoy many activities inside the park and also \u00a0outside the park. If you prefer the activities inside the park you will get the opportunity to walk through the trails, watch different species of birds, enjoy the beautiful panoramic views, observe quetzals and also can visit Los Quetzales <a href=\"https:\/\/costaricajourneys.com\/best-national-parks-in-the-central-pacific-coast-2\/\">National Park<\/a>.
