Attractions<\/h3>\n

Cahuita National Park<\/h4>\n

Established in 1970, Cahuita National Park is one of the most important \u00a0terrestrial and marine national parks in Costa Rica. It’s in\u00a0Caribbean La Amistad Conservation Area, an administrative area managed by SINAC. The purpose of this area is to save the environment and nature of the eastern part of Costa Rica on the Caribbean coast. Famous\u00a0for the coral reefs close to shore,\u00a0Cahuita National Park becomes a great spot for\u00a0snorkeling during the dry season. However, you need your train guide to snorkel here. One of the great things is that you will find many local people who\u00a0offer guide services to help spotting monkeys, birds etc and describe the flora and fauna.<\/p>\n

\"\"Tree of Life Wildlife Rescue Center and Botanical Gardens:<\/h4>\n

While you are in Cahuita, you can work as a volunteer offered by this rescue center or just visit this place to watch the animals protected by this center. It takes care of those animals which are the victim of accidents or hunting or loss their habitat. After nursing when the animals get cured, they are released into their natural habitat. In its 10 acres area, you will see many types of plant species like calatheas, heleconias, bromeliads, palm species and many more. For the iguanas and turtles, this rescue center has a breeding program.<\/p>\n

Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge:<\/h4>\n

5,303 hectares of beach front, mangroves and jungle are protected by this wildlife refuge. This area also include reefs in front of the beaches which are some of the best diving reefs in the country. You can get the opportunity to explore amazing underwater life there. This area is also great for bird watching as there are 360 species of birds are identified.<\/p>\n

Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica:<\/h4>\n

Located seven miles north of Cahuita, this rescue center saves those sloths which have been endangered or orphaned due to traffic injuries, hunting or loss their habitat. After giving proper treatment, those are released into their natural habitat. If you are interested to know about the sloth more, you can go for Buttercup tour. This rescue center also works for educating local youth about sloth appreciation and also about the importance of rainforest ecosystems and also participates on community outreach programs.<\/p>\n
