We have recorded more than 331 species of birds at our preserve since July, 1997, including Resplendent Quetzal, Scaled Antpitta, Black Guan, Emerald Toucanet, Three Wattled Bellbird, Ornate Hawk-Eagle, Zeledonia, and Silvery-fronted, Tapaculo, Black–faced Solitaire, American Dipper, Golden-browed Chlorophonia, among many others, and abundant hummingbirds. You will decide your preference, accordingly with your interest. We offer several tours from our Preserve to popular destinations and bird hotspots close to the area. Pan American Highway to Naranjo- Zarcero-
NARANJO to BOSQUE DE PAZ LODGE.
You begin your journey by driving on the Pan-American Highway. There will be an exit to Naranjo , take the exit, then you go down the road to the town of Zarcero (25 minutes, approximately) . You will now see the park of the Catholic Church, in the corner after the park, take right 14 Kms. The distance from here to Bosque de Paz, is 25 minutes. (Bosque de Paz is 1 mile before to arrive Bajos del Toro Amarillo small village). Do not take any secondary road. You will pass two villages Palmira and Pueblo Nuevo . Go straight on the road, when the asphalt road ends, continue 300 more meters on a gravel road, then you will see to the left a wood sign “Bosque de Paz Reserva Boiológica” , the guard house, and a black closed gate. You have reached your destination. Kindly honk, our gatekeeper will be present there at your service.
