Tamandua Biological Station is situated in La Bijagua, Drake Bay, in the Puntarenas Province of Costa Rica. Surrounded by verdurous greenery and bubbling streams, the station is right at the edge of Corcovado National Park and Golfo Dulce Forestal Reserve.
It owned and run by a local tour guide called Rebeca Quirós along with Ananias Arguijo who is an avid sportfishing enthusiast. Ananias has been working in the sportfishing field for more than 12 years and Rebeca is a tropical biologist as well as a professional tour guide. The station is a part of Arguijo’s property which is a vast piece of verdant land, approximately 50 hectares, with cascading waterfalls, streams and a diverse ecosystem. For accommodations, there are modest bungalows and camps, a simple dining area, a kitchen with basic utensils and many trails leading to the beautiful forest. Currently, Tamandua Biological Station does not have electricity and is accessible by cars only during the dry seasons. In the rainy season, access is possible with horses and ATVs. During your stay at Tamandua Biological Station, you will be greeted by many exotic bugs, fluttering butterflies, chirruping birds and many tropical mammals and reptiles. The whole property is encircled by lush jungles blooming with flowers, tall trees and exotic herbs. Tamandua Biological Station is a wonderful place to visit if you want a real dose of nature and tranquility.

The lodge offers breakfast, lunch and dinner in very reasonable rates. The food is scrumptious, fresh and healthy. There are simple but clean camps and cozy bungalows for accommodations.
