Macaw Lodge, a rustic lodge, is situated close to the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, in Cerros de Turrubares. This small hotel is built in harmony with the environment. Though this lodge is nestled in a remote area, near to both the Pacific coastline and the Carara National Park.

Macaw lodge offers 8 rooms and 4 cabins that can accommodate up to 28 guests comfortably. All the rooms are surrounded by wonderful nature and constructed with some elegant wooden walls, large windows and high ceilings. In each room you will find two full beds covered with therapeutic mattresses and sheets which are made with organic products. Room facility also includes ceiling fans, private bathrooms which are constructed with locally processed marble and also include hot water facility and towels. There are also large windows that make it possible to enjoy the breeze in the comfort of your room.
People who want more space and independence they can stay at the cabins which are featured with two single beds and one queen-size bed. There are also a kitchen that is fully equipped for those who want to make their dish personally. If you want to spend relaxing time, you can sit on the rocking chairs in the covered balcony. Breakfast is included and other meals are optional. You will enjoy the delicious food that are locally sources, filling, and tasty. The lodge restaurant has covered outdoor seating and a marvelous view of the botanical gardens.

Surrounding area of the Macaw lodge offers plenty of options to enjoy a number of activities. In the lodge property there is a botanical garden that has an impressive collection different species of plants. You can also go for a tour to watch the process of the hotel’s coffee and cacao plantations. If you are a yoga lover, you can head to the outdoor yoga studio to practice postures in nature. Nature lovers can go for a walk through the primary forest to a waterfall.
Sustainability:
The Macaw Lodge is working hard to enhancing the awareness of sustainable living. This hotel has its own tree plantations from where it used timber for the construction of the lodge. Most of the floors and bathrooms were made from locally extracted stone that was worked on and polished. Solar panel is used for the electricity. It use low-flow shower heads and dual-flow toilets as well as collect water from its own springs.
