The central valley, for most tourists, is just the place where your plane lands, before you head out to the beach or mountains to see Costa Rica’s sights. But there are also many attractions in the area, such as the Jade Museum and the Gold Museum, both of which have a spectacular array of ancient artifacts from pre-Columbian times. We also included the southern volcanoes and nearby towns such as Turrialba in this section.
